Shortbread Cookies

Delicious, buttery shortbread cookies perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add in the vanilla extract and mix to combine.
  4. Gradually add the flour and salt, mixing until a soft dough forms.
  5. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  6. Flatten each ball slightly with the bottom of a glass.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-18 minutes or until the edges are lightly golden.
  8. Allow to cool on a wire rack before serving.

Notes

Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. For longer storage, freeze separated with parchment paper.
