Savory Breakfast Sausage and Cheese Casserole

A hearty and satisfying casserole made with sausage, cheese, and eggs, perfect for breakfast gatherings.

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt
  • ½ teaspoon dried minced garlic
  • ½ teaspoon dried minced onion
  • 1 refrigerated crescent roll dough sheet

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, brown the breakfast sausage until fully cooked; drain excess oil and let cool.
  3. Unroll the crescent roll dough and press it evenly into a greased 9×13-inch casserole dish.
  4. Sprinkle the cooked sausage over the dough layer.
  5. Add an even layer of shredded cheddar cheese on top of the sausage.
  6. In a mixing bowl, whisk together eggs, milk, black pepper, sea salt, garlic, and onion until well combined.
  7. Pour the egg mixture over the casserole layers evenly.
  8. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until set and golden brown on top.
  9. Let cool slightly before slicing into squares and serving warm.

Notes

Press the crescent roll dough firmly to prevent it from puffing up while baking. Allow the casserole to cool for a few minutes before slicing.
