Sausage Egg and Cheese Casserole

A hearty breakfast casserole with savory sausage, fluffy eggs, and melted cheese, perfect for feeding a crowd.

  • 1 pound sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or your choice)
  • 2 cups milk
  • 4 cups bread cubes
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the sausage over medium heat until it is browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and onion powder until well blended.
  4. Add the bread cubes, cooked sausage, and cheese to the egg mixture. Stir well to combine.
  5. Pour the mixture into a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for 35-45 minutes, until the eggs are set and the top is golden.
  7. Let it cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

For a bit of spice, consider using spicy sausage or adding diced jalapeños. You can prepare the casserole the night before for convenience.
