Description

A delicious and creamy butter chicken recipe that’s quick to prepare, perfect for family dinners or casual get-togethers.

Ingredients

  • 1 ½ pounds skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized chunks
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon sweet paprika
  • ½ teaspoon curry powder
  • 1 tablespoon Greek yogurt
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 tablespoons butter (divided)
  • 6 garlic cloves (minced)
  • 1 medium onion (diced)
  • 1 15-ounce can tomato sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon garam masala
  • ½ teaspoon curry powder
  • ¼ cup freshly chopped parsley (optional, for garnish)
  • Naan bread
  • Steamed rice

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix chicken pieces with salt, garlic powder, sweet paprika, curry powder, and Greek yogurt. Let it marinate for about 30 minutes.
  2. Heat vegetable oil and 1 tablespoon of butter in a large pan over medium heat. Add the marinated chicken and cook until browned and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. In the same pan, add another tablespoon of butter. Sauté minced garlic and diced onion until soft and golden.
  4. Pour in tomato sauce and add sugar, salt, and black pepper. Stir and let it simmer for 5 minutes.
  5. Return cooked chicken to the pan. Pour in heavy cream, cayenne pepper (if using), garam masala, and curry powder. Stir and let simmer on low heat for 10-15 minutes.
  6. Add remaining tablespoon of butter for extra richness. Stir until melted and combined.
  7. Serve hot, garnished with parsley, along with naan bread and steamed rice.

Notes

Marinate the chicken for at least 30 minutes for better flavor. Adjust creaminess and sweetness to taste.
