Description

Deliciously crispy on the outside and soft on the inside, these cheesy snacks are perfect for parties or cozy nights in.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • Oil or cooking spray for frying/baking

Instructions

  1. Prepare your ingredients by gathering everything in one place for convenience.
  2. If using fresh potatoes, peel and boil them until fork-tender. Then, mash with butter and cream until smooth. If you have leftovers, simply reheat them until warm.
  3. In a large bowl, mix the warm mashed potatoes with cheddar cheese, eggs, flour, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  4. Scoop the mixture into golf ball-sized portions and shape them into balls.
  5. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) or heat oil in a deep fryer.
  6. If baking, place the puffs on a lined baking sheet and bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown. If frying, cook until crispy and golden.
  7. Let the puffs cool slightly before serving warm for the best cheesy experience.

Notes

Serve warm with your favorite dipping sauces.
