Eggnog French Toast

A delightful twist on the classic breakfast favorite, combining the comforting flavors of eggnog, cinnamon, and nutmeg for a sweet and satisfying dish.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6 slices of bread
  • 1 cup eggnog
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Maple syrup (for serving)
  • Powdered sugar (optional, for serving)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the eggnog, eggs, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  2. Heat butter in a skillet over medium heat.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the eggnog mixture, allowing it to soak for a few seconds on each side.
  4. Place the soaked bread in the skillet and cook until golden brown on both sides, about 3-4 minutes per side.
  5. Serve warm with maple syrup and a sprinkle of powdered sugar if desired.

Notes

Use thick slices of bread for a richer texture, and let the bread soak longer for a custardy inside. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to three days.
