Easiest Gingerbread French Toast

A delightful twist on a classic breakfast favorite, filled with cozy flavors of gingerbread. Perfect for cozy mornings or holiday brunches.

  • 6 slices brioche bread (day-old preferred)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 2 tbsp molasses
  • 1 tsp ground ginger
  • ½ tsp ground cinnamon (optional)
  • A pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, molasses, and spices until smooth to make the custard.
  2. Dip each slice of brioche into the custard, allowing them to soak for a few seconds on each side.
  3. Heat a buttered skillet over medium heat and cook the soaked brioche slices until golden brown on both sides, about 2–3 minutes per side.

Notes

Use day-old brioche for best results and adjust spices for desired flavor.
