Description
A delightful dish combining tender steak, cheesy tortellini, and a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for family dinners or date nights.
Ingredients
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt
- Black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Boil water in a large pot. Add the tortellini and cook according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
- In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Slowly whisk in the parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit more milk.
- Slice the steak into strips and add it back to the skillet along with the cooked tortellini. Stir to coat everything in the creamy sauce.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Garnish with chopped parsley and cracked black pepper, if using.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use freshly grated parmesan cheese. Let the steak rest before slicing to keep it juicy. Consider adding vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes.
