Description

A delightful dish combining tender steak, cheesy tortellini, and a creamy garlic sauce, perfect for family dinners or date nights.

Ingredients

  • 20 oz cheese tortellini
  • 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Garlic powder
  • Smoked paprika
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
  • Parsley, chopped (optional)
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)

Instructions

  1. Boil water in a large pot. Add the tortellini and cook according to the package instructions. Drain and set aside.
  2. Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika on both sides.
  3. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the steak and cook for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired level of doneness. Remove from the skillet and let it rest.
  4. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the butter and minced garlic. Sauté until fragrant, about 1 minute. Pour in the heavy cream and whole milk. Stir well and bring to a gentle simmer.
  5. Slowly whisk in the parmesan cheese until melted and smooth. If the sauce is too thick, add a bit more milk.
  6. Slice the steak into strips and add it back to the skillet along with the cooked tortellini. Stir to coat everything in the creamy sauce.
  7. Taste and adjust seasoning with more salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if desired. Garnish with chopped parsley and cracked black pepper, if using.

Notes

For a richer flavor, use freshly grated parmesan cheese. Let the steak rest before slicing to keep it juicy. Consider adding vegetables like spinach or cherry tomatoes.
