Christmas Tree Meringues

These delightful Christmas Tree Meringues are not only cute but also incredibly delicious, adding a touch of sweetness to your holiday celebrations.

Ingredients

  • 3 large egg whites (at room temperature)
  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • ¼ teaspoon cream of tartar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Green gel food coloring
  • Sprinkles for decoration

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 225°F (110°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean mixing bowl, whisk the egg whites on medium speed until foamy, about 2 minutes.
  3. Add the cream of tartar and continue whisking until soft peaks form.
  4. Increase the speed to high and gradually add the sugar, one tablespoon at a time, until stiff, glossy peaks form (about 8-10 minutes total).
  5. Gently fold in the vanilla extract and green food coloring with a spatula until just combined.
  6. Transfer the meringue mixture to a piping bag fitted with a large star tip.
  7. Pipe the meringue into tree shapes, starting with a wide base and spiraling upwards.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 1 hour and 30 minutes without opening the door.
  9. Turn off the oven, leave the door slightly open, and allow the meringues to cool completely inside for 30 minutes before removing.
