Christmas Crack – Saltine Cracker Toffee

A delightful treat that combines sweet and salty flavors, perfect for the holiday season.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Dark Brown Sugar
  • 1 cup Butter
  • 12 oz Chocolate Chips
  • Saltine Crackers

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Line a 9×13-inch pan with foil for easy cleanup.
  3. Place one layer of saltine crackers in the pan and set aside.
  4. In a saucepan, combine the butter and brown sugar. Bring to a rolling boil and cook for 3 minutes, stirring constantly.
  5. Carefully pour the hot butter-sugar mixture over the saltines and spread evenly. Bake in the oven for 7 minutes.
  6. Remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle chocolate chips over the hot cracker base.
  7. Allow the chocolate to melt for a minute, then spread it like icing over the toffee layer. Add any desired toppings.
  8. Refrigerate until set, then break into pieces and enjoy!

Notes

For best results, avoid burning the butter and sugar mixture, and don’t skip refrigeration.
