Biscuits and Gravy Casserole

A comforting breakfast casserole combining homemade biscuits, savory sausage, and creamy gravy, perfect for brunch or family gatherings.

  • 10 oz buttermilk biscuits
  • 1 lb breakfast sausage
  • 6 large eggs
  • ½ cup whole milk
  • 2 cups shredded cheese (divided)
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1 tsp black pepper
  • 2 cups water
  • 1 packet (2.75 oz) sausage gravy mix

Instructions

  1. Press the biscuit dough into a greased 9×13 pan.
  2. Brown the sausage in a skillet, drain any excess fat, and layer it on top of the biscuit dough.
  3. In a bowl, whisk the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper together. Pour this mixture over the sausage.
  4. Add 1 cup of shredded cheese on top of the egg mixture.
  5. Prepare the sausage gravy according to the instructions on the packet, using 2 cups of water. Let it cool slightly, then pour it over the casserole.
  6. Top with the remaining cheese.
  7. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F for about 35 minutes, or until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before cutting and serving.

Notes

Make sure to use fresh biscuits for the best texture and let the casserole rest after baking for easier serving.
