Biscuits and Gravy Breakfast Casserole

A hearty and delicious casserole combining tender biscuits, creamy sausage gravy, and gooey cheese, perfect for breakfast or brunch.

  • 10 large biscuits
  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 8 large eggs
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil (if needed)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a skillet, cook the breakfast sausage over medium heat until browned. Drain excess fat if necessary.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, salt, and pepper.
  4. Cut the biscuits into quarters and place half of them in a greased 9×13-inch baking dish.
  5. Layer the cooked sausage over the biscuits, then pour half of the egg mixture over the sausage.
  6. Repeat the layers with the remaining biscuits, sausage, and egg mixture.
  7. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 30-35 minutes, or until the casserole is set and the top is golden brown.
  9. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Serve warm with fresh fruit, coffee, or a light juice. Drizzling extra gravy on top enhances the flavor.
