Best Cheesy Garlic Bread

A delicious and comforting side dish featuring roasted garlic, creamy butter, and gooey mozzarella cheese, perfect for any meal.

  • 810 garlic cloves
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • Pinch of salt (for roasting garlic)
  • ½ cup (113g) butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • ¼ cup (60g) milk
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp paprika
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped
  • 12 King’s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sheet Rolls (or 1 large French baguette)
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Chopped parsley for serving
  • Chili flakes for serving

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Toss garlic cloves with olive oil and a pinch of salt; roast for 30-40 minutes until soft.
  2. In a bowl, mix melted butter, roasted garlic, 1 egg, milk, salt, paprika, and chopped parsley.
  3. If using Hawaiian rolls, keep them in their sheet form. For a baguette, slice it lengthwise. Place bread, cut-side up, on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Spread the garlic butter mix generously over the cut surface.
  4. Evenly sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese over the buttered bread. Bake in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes until cheese is melted and bubbly.
  5. Switch to the broiler setting and broil for 1-3 minutes, watching continuously until the cheese is golden-brown.
  6. Let the bread rest for 2-3 minutes, slice into pieces, and garnish with additional parsley and chili flakes. Serve hot.

Notes

Use fresh garlic for best flavor. Feel free to add more cheese or herbs as desired. Monitor closely while broiling to prevent burning.
