Baked Tater Tot Breakfast Casserole

A delicious casserole combining tater tots, hearty ham, and creamy cheeses, baked to perfection, perfect for breakfast, brunch, or family dinners.

  • 1 bag (30–32 oz) frozen potato puffs
  • 16 oz diced cooked ham
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella or Monterey Jack cheese
  • 8 large eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1 to 2 tsp hot sauce (optional)
  • 1/2 cup grated cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix the eggs, milk, sour cream, salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and hot sauce (if using) until well combined.
  3. In a greased 9×13 inch baking dish, spread the diced ham evenly at the bottom.
  4. Pour the egg mixture over the ham.
  5. Sprinkle both types of cheese over the egg mixture, ensuring an even layer.
  6. Finally, spread the frozen tater tots over the cheese, covering the entire top.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 45-50 minutes, or until the eggs are set, and the tater tots are golden brown.
  8. Let it cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

For extra crispiness, broil the casserole for the last few minutes of baking. Feel free to add veggies like bell peppers or spinach for extra nutrition.
