Amazing Sausage Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole

A delicious and hearty breakfast casserole combining sausage, hash browns, and cheese, perfect for busy mornings or family brunches.

  • 1 pound breakfast sausage
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 1 (32 ounce) package frozen hash brown potatoes
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 6 large eggs, beaten
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the breakfast sausage and chopped onion over medium heat until the sausage is browned and the onion is tender. Drain off any excess grease.
  3. Spread the frozen hash brown potatoes evenly in the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  4. In a medium bowl, beat together the softened cream cheese and milk until smooth.
  5. Stir in the salt, pepper, and beaten eggs.
  6. Pour the cream cheese mixture over the hash browns.
  7. Sprinkle the cooked sausage and onion mixture evenly over the top.
  8. Bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the casserole is set and lightly browned.
  9. Remove from oven and sprinkle with shredded cheddar cheese. Let stand for 5 minutes before serving.

Notes

Drain excess grease from the sausage to prevent greasiness. Let cool slightly before cutting for easier serving. Customize with veggies or different cheese if desired.
